Our Story

We started with a broken collar.

We didn't set out to build a pet brand. We set out to fix a drawer full of junk.

After the fourth cheap nylon leash had frayed, the third reflective collar had cracked, and the bed we'd spent "too much" on had already flattened, we went looking for dog gear that held up the way the rest of our house did. Leather that softened with use. Wool that lasted through winters. Wood that earned its patina.

We didn't find much. So we built it.

Rover & Oak makes heirloom-quality essentials for people who treat their dogs like family — and their homes like they matter, too. Every piece uses real materials: full-grain leather, solid brass, wool you can feel the difference in. Every piece is backed by a 10-year warranty we actually honor. And every piece is designed so it belongs on the sofa, not in a closet.

Our materials

Leather. Full-grain, vegetable-tanned. The kind of leather that darkens with sunlight and softens with wear, the way a good boot does. We source from tanneries that have been doing this for generations, not factories that only know polyurethane.

Brass & steel. Solid hardware, not plated. Rivets that won't rust, buckles that won't bend, snap hooks rated for dogs 10x their advertised weight. If it's metal, it's the real thing.

Wool & natural fiber. For the soft stuff — beds, blankets, mats — we use wool, cotton canvas, and natural fills. No polyester fluff. No synthetic foam that breaks down in a year.

The Rover & Oak guarantee

If one of our products breaks in normal use, we replace it. No receipt hunting. No fine print. We build things meant to last, and we stand behind them when they don't.
